HOW I BUILT A SITE THAT MADE OVER £1,500 PER MONTH
Overview
UltimateFIFA was a project I started in 2010 after identifying the huge potential of Ultimate Team, a game mode in the FIFA video game series.
Through keyword research and content creation I built an authority site that at its peak attracted over 200,000 monthly visitors and made over £1,500 per month through advertising and affiliate sales.
The site’s undergone many redesigns including this one ultilising a colour scheme similar to FIFA 17 to make the content instantly recognisable as being related to the game.

Whist I was actively managing the website during its peak it was bringing in well over £1,000 a month through advertising and affiliate sales. Through keyword research, SEO and high quality content I brought in organic traffic through search engines whilst building up a large social media following mainly on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube as well as a hefty email list to retain visitors and build a community.

I ran the site alone so I hat to wear a number of hats. (Mainly trilbys and fedoras). I also had to do a wide variety of stuff to make this work including:
WordPress Theme and Xenforo Forum Customisation
As well as customising the WordPress theme for the blog I heavily modified a Xenforo forum theme to match the overall site design. On top of aligning the branding and colour scheme I modified plugins to add extra functionality for users.
